This is a collaboration item between ORIGAMI and Maruyoshi Kosaka.

The Aroma Glass Server features a coating of suki-urushi (Clear lacquer).

Suki-urushi refers to raw lacquer that has been refined into a translucent, amber-colored lacquer.

What makes lacquer uniquely distinct from other materials is the way it ages over time. While wooden or bamboo products deepen in color and gain a rustic patina the more they are used, lacquer gradually increases in transparency and shifts into a brighter tone as it interacts with environmental factors like light and humidity.

With suki-urushi, you can experience and enjoy this unique aging process to the absolute fullest.

The design is crafted so that as you brew about a single cup of coffee, you can enjoy a beautiful, shifting gradient that transitions from clear transparency to deep brown.

【About Maruyoshi Kosaka】

In 1945, Maruyoshi Kosaka began its journey in Kiso-Hirasawa, a small town along the old Nakasendo highway surrounded by the deep forests of the Kiso Valley in Nagano Prefecture. Under the leadership of third-generation artisan Reo Kosaka, the brand polishes the history built by predecessors, evolving the traditions of Kiso lacquerware through lacquer and woodwork to fit into a contemporary context.
