- ORIGAMI CUP 2024 Start of competition participant application -

ORIGAMI CUP 2024 TOKI, GIFU will be held.

The ORIGAMI CUP has been held in many countries around the world and is gradually spreading.

In this competition, contestants compete to see who can brew the best coffee using an ORIGAMI dripper.

The rules are to use ORIGAMI drippers and designated coffee beans.

There is no formal atmosphere, the goal is to brew coffee while having fun together, and everyone is welcome to enter, regardless of skill level, whether you are a professional barista or a home brewer.

The first ORIGAMI CUP was held in Tokyo in 2023 as an official event, and many people attended and participated.

This second event will be held in Toki City, Gifu Prefecture, where ORIGAMI drippers are produced.

The venue, KOYO BASE, is located next to the ORIGAMI factory and is a hands-on facility that offers a cafe where you can enjoy ORIGAMI-brewed coffee and local ingredients, a store where you can purchase all ORIGAMI products, and factory tours and workshops where you can learn about the production process of tableware.

This year's ORIGAMI CUP will again invite great judges as in the previous year.

In addition, this year's sponsors have also cooperated with us, and you will be able to try out the latest coffee gear at the sponsors' booths at the venue.

After the competition, there will be an after-party where you can meet and mingle with the judges and sponsors.

【Date and Time】

November 11, 2024 (Monday) 13:00 - 19:00 (tentative)

【Venue】

KOYO BASE 1496-5 Kusiri, Izumi-cho, Toki-shi, Gifu　

Nearest station: 20-minute walk from Toki City Station on the JR Chuo Main Line. A shuttle bus will be available from the station to the venue on the day of the event. If you are coming by car, please contact us in advance.

【Participation Fee】

13,000 JPY (including food and beverages at the after-party)

【Competitions】

ORIGAMI Dripper, coffee beans, water

Grinder (manual only), *Extraction equipment (Paragon etc.)

ORIGAMI drippers (porcelain and resin), EK grinder, kettle, server, paper filters (conical and wave), cupping bowl

*If you bring your own extraction equipment, please take care of it yourself.

・No rehearsals.

・5 minutes preparation time, 5 minutes competition time. 150 ml or more of liquid provided.

・Three judges point (cupping judges) to determine the winner by majority vote.

・While waiting for the competition and after the competition, you will brew coffee for visitors at a separate counter.

・A rulebook will be emailed to you one month before the tournament after the completion of participant registration.

【Notes】

Due to preparation, please contact to shop-origami@k-aijp.com at least 2 days in advance if you cancel your entry.

Registration fee will not be refunded in case of cancellation on the day of the event.

The purpose of the after-party is for the competitors to meet and mingle with the judges and sponsors. If you wish to bring a companion, please contact us in advance.
