I've always been drawn to tools that not only serve a functional purpose but also elevate the entire coffee experience. ORIGAMI was exactly that kind of presence for me.
My first encounter with ORIGAMI wasn’t through a dripper—it was the Sensory Flavor Cup. A friend brought it to a cupping session, and I was immediately intrigued. Its appearance was beautiful, but what truly surprised me was how it felt in my hand and the way it enhanced the aroma. It made the coffee feel deeper, more meaningful. In that moment, I thought, “I want to try other tools from ORIGAMI too.” I was especially drawn to the dripper.
Once I started using it, I quickly understood why so many people love it. It offers the freedom to explore a wide range of brewing styles, while also delivering clarity and control. It’s a tool where design, precision, and creativity are perfectly balanced.
My coffee journey began in 2011. It all started when I worked part-time at Starbucks during my university years. At the time, I knew nothing about coffee — it was just another part-time job. But as time went on, I became drawn to the process, the people, and the stories behind each cup of coffee.
I worked at Starbucks for eight years, during which I not only developed my skills but also grew significantly in confidence. I had the opportunity to compete in barista championships and placed third as the representative of Starbucks Indonesia at the Starbucks Barista Championship Asia Pacific. This experience opened my eyes to the vastness of the coffee world.
After that, I transitioned into the world of specialty coffee, and I’m currently working as Head of Coffee & Beverages at Common Grounds Coffee.
In 2024, I represented Indonesia at the World Brewers Cup held in Chicago, where I placed third. This moment marked a major milestone in my journey.
Even now, my journey of learning and growth continues—not only through competition, but also through sharing knowledge with others. Recently, I created a small coffee space in my apartment called “The Room,” where I aim to offer more meaningful coffee experiences.
Before I knew it, what began as a part-time job has become a lifelong passion—now more than ten years on.

Standing on the world stage in Chicago felt like a dream. A wave of emotions — anxiety, excitement, and deep gratitude — all rushed over me at once. It was a mix of pressure and joy — I felt as though I was carrying not just myself, but the hopes of my country, my team, and everyone who had supported me.
One of the most special and unforgettable coffees for me is the natural process “Sunda Aromanis” from West Java, Indonesia. It wasn’t just delicious — it was a cup that made me want to learn more about coffee.
