ORIGAMI CUP USA 2025

On April 22, 2025, ORIGAMI CUP USA was held for the first time in Houston, Texas, USA.
The host company, Slow Pour Supply, is the official distributor of ORIGAMI in the U.S. and a coffee equipment company that handles world-class brewing equipment, latte art pitchers, and paper filters.
This year's competition brought together a unique group of sponsors through Slow Pour Supply's network.

ORIGAMI CUP USA rules
Competitors will be provided with the following items on the day of the competition.
・ORIGAMI ReWork Dripper S
・ORIGAMI paper filters [Cone and Wave]
・Coffee beans provided by Caravela Coffee and Amaya Coffee Roasters 300g
Minerals from Apax Lab 20mL
・Apron and bean tray from Caravela

Competitors must use ORIGAMI drippers and paper filters, provided coffee beans, and water mixed with APAX LAB minerals for all rounds.
In addition, distilled water, servers, kettles, scales and cups will be provided and a sponsor's WPM grinder or hand grinder may be used.

The ORIGAMI ReWork drippers used in the competition are made from raw materials that are grinded and powdered from products destined for disposal and mixed with porcelain clay at a rate of at least 20%.
An exhibition was set up at the venue to introduce the manufacturing process and background of the ORIGAMI ReWork drippers.
Round 1 - Round 2
In Rounds 1 through 2, competitors will be divided into groups and given 20 minutes to practice (10 minutes in Round 2) followed by 5 minutes of preparation time. Once the competition begins, competitors will have 5 minutes to brew one cup of coffee.
Judging will be done by 3 judges based on the score sheet to determine the winner.
The Final
After Round 2, the origin and profile of the coffee beans used in the competition will be announced. The three finalists will use this information to construct their presentations and recipes.
The competition was held one at a time, and the ORIGAMI Pinot Flavour Cup M pink was used as the serving cup in the final round.

The winner of ORIGAMI CUP USA 2025 will get a trip to Colombia presented by sponsor Caravela Coffee.
Second place will receive a ZP-1 grinder ($1,250 value) from WPM,
Third place will receive a $350 gift card from Slow Pour Supply.
